2019 Presentation Event

Nov. 7, 2019

November 7, 2019 marked another wonderful Bill 7 Award Presentation at the 519 Community Centre.

A record group of almost 150 comprised of recipients, guests, donors, sponsors and supporters witnessed a diverse group of impressive student recipients receiving Bill 7 Award scholarships.  The bravery, authenticity and dedication of the students, and hearing of the challenges they have overcome, always leaves a memorable impact on attendees.

At the event, thanks to increased support from our generous donors, we were pleased to announce our first ever continuing Bill 7 Award scholarship, which was awarded to recipient Adryan Korzen (currently in 1st year Medical Science at Western) who will be eligible to receive a Bill 7 Award scholarship each year until he completes his undergraduate program.  In addition to the new continuing scholarship, we were also to present 15 scholarships in the amount of $3,000.   You will recall due to donor support we increased each scholarship to $3,000 each compared to $2,500 in recent prior years.

We also would especially like to thank our event sponsors - IBM Canada, EY and Manulife Financial - who through their generous support enable us to hold this very special event to recognize the 16 very deserving LGBTQ students who were scholarship recipients.
