We held another hugely successful Bill 7 Award Presentation on Thursday November 8, 2018 at the 519 Community Centre.
We heard powerful stories from and celebrated our amazing student recipients. We also announced a very significant donation by RBC Foundation and the RBC Future Launch initiative of $75,000 over the next 5 years to support the Bill 7 Award Trust and scholarships for LGBTQ students facing a critical financial need.
At the event, thanks to increased support from our generous donors and RBC Future Launch, we were pleased to be able to not only increase the number of scholarships to 15 in total, but also to increase the amount of each scholarship to $3,000 each (compared to $2,500 in recent prior years).
We also would especially like to thank our corporate sponsors – IBM Canada, Manulife Financial and EY – who through their generous support enable us to hold this very special event to recognize the 15 very deserving students who were scholarship recipients.
