Invest in youth. Invest in education. Invest in our community’s future.

There are many ways to make a contribution to the Bill 7 Award.

Investing in our youth by investing in their education is a concrete way to build and invest in our community’s future.

Evidence shows that LGBTQ youth are at risk of not attending or completing post-secondary education due to affordability, debt and lack of familial support. Moreover, they experience higher levels of depression and lower levels of self-esteem.

Through your generosity we can help LGBTQ overcome the financial and societal barriers that prevent them from pursuing higher education. We can give them the necessary foundation to secure solid employment. We can set them on a path to achieving long-term financial self-sufficiency. And we can empower them to become the next leaders of our community.

The Bill 7 Award Scholarships give LGBTQ students access to higher education. This is crucial if we are to take this vulnerable group out of the poverty stream, increase their earning potential and ensure their economic stability.

While studying, scholarships allow LGBTQ students to meet their basic housing, food and security needs. A number of past recipients were at risk, or in fact, homeless when they applied for the scholarship.

Tuition and other school expenses keep on rising. We need the Bill 7 Award Trust to keep on growing so we can provide more financial support to more queer students.
