2021 Presentation Event

Bill 7 Award held another tremendous scholarship presentation event on November 1, 2021. After having a virtual event in 2020 and with everyone subject to pandemic restrictions for most of 2021, we were delighted to have over 100 supporters, students and guests attend an in-person celebration of our 21 very deserving scholarship recipients. 

As in prior years, we heard many inspiring stories as the students showed their appreciation for the support they received from us in pursuing their studies. Thanks to our generous donors, Bill 7 Award was able to present a third continuing scholarship to a student who will be entitled to receive their scholarship each year for up to 4 years as they complete their degree.  

Perhaps the most exciting news of the evening was a large donation of over $18,000 received from Left Field Brewery as a result of them designating Bill 7 Award to benefit from their hugely successful Beer for Everyone campaign during Pride Month. As a result of the donation from Left Field, we announced that for 2021 the amount of each scholarship would be increased from $3,500 to $4,000. We love Left Field!

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank our event sponsors – IBM Canada, Manulife and EY. It is through their generous support that we’re able to hold this special in person event and recognize our scholarship recipients.
